Day 227 – A Picture A Day While My Soldier’s Away

About to embark on my 35th birthday {gasp}, I have been contemplating my age, maturity, and the faint glimpses I still have of my youth.  Being 35 with a 3 year old child isn’t so abnormal in my hometown in Florida.  As an Army Wife, I often feel like a freak of nature!  Most wives that I’ve met with 3 year olds are in their early 20’s.  Since I spend most of my time with friends that have children Kylie’s age, it just happens that my closest friends here are in their 20’s – some very EARLY 20’s!  I try not to over-think it – hopefully they don’t consider me the freak of nature that I sometimes seem to feel like.  I have to admit that I have found the fountain of youth in all of this though.  Being surrounded by close friends ten years younger than me has made it easy to forget that I’m moving up the ladder of age more quickly than I’d like.  Thank you girls for keeping me young in spirit xoxo

  1. I don’t ever think about my friends’ ages until I realize that some of my close friends have kids in their teens. LOL I don’t care how old someone is… If I love being with them and they make me feel happy about the friendship, then I will be happy to be someone’s friend. 🙂

  2. I can relate! I’m 34 and feel so old around some of the women with children the same ages as my own. And, considering I’m now pregnant again {gasp}, my body is making me feel OLD! lol You don’t look a day over 25, so I say ROCK ON!
