Newborn Twin Brothers Ethan & Eli | Clarksville Newborn Photographer

Newborn Twin Baby Boys These twin brothers stole my heart and the public spotlight more than once over the past few months.  Considering that their mother and father were both soldiers in the Army and served together in Afghanistan, I should have expected these precious little “military brats” to take charge and steal hearts along the way.  Born micro-preemies, the boys were 9 weeks old by time they graced me with their presence.  Even so, they were each approximately 5 lbs at the time.  Tiny!

To honor their dual military parents, we incorporated Mom & Dad’s Uniform Shirts atop the separate tiers of a miniature bunk bed.  The setup proved to be not only meaningful and PERSONAL to the family, but also a big hit with the public.  BEST NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHERS featured the image of the boys on the bunk bed on THE BLOG and their Facebook Fanpage on December 2nd, 2012.

This image was featured at BEST NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHERS as well on December 29th, and proves to be a favorite image for many (including me).  I plead the 5th on which brother this is though – I refuse to play favorites!

Since the boys were photographed in MOvember {November} and have a grandfather with a famous ‘stache, we decided to run with it and photograph them supporting the cause as well.  It became another little personal touch that tells a story about their family, which is an important part of what I strive to give each client.  Here they are pictured with their Grandfather:

Twin newborn babies and their mustaches for MOVEMBER

Apparently the newborn ‘stache picture was appreciated by more than just the family it represented.  Plenty of giggles and comments came about, and BEST BABY PHOTOGRAPHERS shared the picture on their Facebook Fanpage on November 28th.  How fun!

Being the middle of the holidays, we put together a very fitting Facebook Timeline Cover for Mom & Dad too – it still makes me chuckle 🙂

Silent Night? Yeah Right! Newborn Twins

When Daddy & Mommy were deployed together in Afghanistan, Daddy gave Mommy a teddy bear lovingly named “Beans”.  How appropriate that Beans be photographed with the boys now!  I wonder what will become of Beans once the boys are old enough to realize there is only ONE Beans?  I think we may have to check back with the parents in a few years to find out.  Until then, they were perfectly content sharing him in sweet slumber.

Here are a few more favorites from our time together, including this adorable shot with tiny little newborn baby fedora hats from Kasey’s Creations!  (She makes the infamous little newborn Army caps as well).  You can follow her on Facebook too if you like, tell her I sent you!

All in all, it was a wonderful session!  My dear friend Jasmine over at The Jazzy Peony Prop Shop assisted with the babies, stop by her Facebook Fanpage and give her some love if you get a chance!

Last but not least, I must include the obligatory sleeping parent out-take that so many of you love.  With twins, I expected Mom to be knocked out much sooner and for much longer, but I will take what I can get 🙂

Newborn Baby Ryker James! | Fort Campbell Newborn Photographer

Ryker James.  Is that not one of THE BEST newborn boy names ever?  I kinda love it.  Ryker was a newborn photographer’s dream baby – not only was he absolutely gorgeous, but he was also what I like to call a “honeybadger” baby.  {Appropriately nicknamed by his parents}.  Honeybadger babies are the equivalent to winning the newborn photography lottery.  They are just calm, cool, collected and asleep – no matter what position or contraption you pose them in/on.  Honeybadger babies just don’t give a …  DARN.  heh 🙂

Here are some of my favorites from our session, ending with Ryker’s honeybadger DAD caught snoozing.  I guess we know where Ryker gets it from then!

Labor Of Love | Giving Back

Do you remember the Labor of Love, Happy Labor Day giveaway?  A complimentary newborn portrait session was up for grabs for the first baby born on Labor day in the surrounding areas of Clarksville, TN , Fort Campbell, KY , and Hopkinsville, KY.

Nia Joelle was the Labor of Love winner – born at 5:47pm on Labor Day in Fort Campbell, KY.  Nia’s newborn portrait session went well – she was a sweet little sleeper and her older sister stole the spotlight every now and then.  It was an honor to work with this family and to pay it forward by blessing them with a complimentary newborn session.  Here are some of my favorite images from Nia’s newborn gallery.

Are you loving these little newborn tutu and headband sets as much as I do???  Check out one of my favorite vendors Wren and Ribbon for more of her chic and unique accessories.  Be sure to become a fan of hers on Facebook too!

Triple Blessed! Newborn Triplet Photographer | Clarksville, TN

When I put out a casting call for newborn triplets, I never imagined how much these little angels would change my life.  I wanted to photograph triplets for selfish reasons – I wanted them in my portfolio!  The session was complimentary for that reason, but once I met the parents and learned their story, I felt called to attempt to make a difference.  Being a lower enlisted family of 5 prior to the natural conception of triplets, you can image the shock these parents must have experienced.  As if that weren’t a large enough adjustment, they learned they were also facing a military relocation within a few weeks.  I knew that enough wonderful people subscribed to my page that we could possibly help this family.

After sharing a sneak peek image of the babies and a synopsis of the family situation, the donations have poured in from all over the world.  Countless fans have given a few dollars here and there that have added up to make a huge difference.  A stranger to the family donated $100 and a newborn photographer of triplets located in Canada donated $100.  Another stranger to the family is shipping a very expensive triplet stroller from Florida.  A struggling military family with 7 children dropped off diapers and $30.  Moms all over town have messaged me with clothes that their babies have outgrown and they will be dropping off for the family.

I am truly in awe of the generous people I am surrounded by.  The family will be relocating next week and I can’t wait to shower them with love from all of you.  Your gifts and donations will be priceless to this family.  You, my friends, have changed this family’s life.

If you would like to contribute, please DONATE HERE.  If you would prefer to mail something, please email me for my address:  mypicturedmoments@yahoo.com.

Double Time!

After a successful casting call, I recently made my first attempt at newborn twins!  I have to admit that I was slightly petrified prior – what if I bombed it???  There is a very small window of opportunity to truly capture that brand new baby phase, so often times a re-shoot isn’t an option.  I studied twin posing that I loved, pinned images that really resonated with me by artists that I admired, and asked my dear friend Amber Richter to assist with the soothing and posing (who could resist that job???).   I was as ready as I was going to be when the family arrived and I have to confess that it all went much smoother than I anticipated.  The girls were angels, big brother filled the role with pride, and the parents were just as patient as can be.  These are just a few “sneak peeks” from the session – I can’t wait to post more!
